Senior Transportation - Lower Columbia Community Action Program (CAP)

SERVICES PROVIDED: Senior transportation is available to Cowlitz and Wahkiakum seniors age 60 and over. By wheelchair accessible van for Longview, Kelso, and Lexington residents who live outside the CUBS service who are to come into town for medical appointments and shopping services. Volunteer drivers are available to transport people for medical appointments in the Portland/Vancouver area, and as far north as Seattle (the wheelchair van is not available for those trips). Due to budget constraints, this service is limited to two round trips per month per client.

Gabriel Project

The Gabriel Project is a Pro-Life movement offering parish-based pastoral care to women in a crisis pregnancies. Gabriel volunteers, called Angels, work with the mother throughout the pregnancy and beyond, providing a variety of services based on the mother's needs. Services include but are not limited to  such things as transportation to doctor appointments, housing assistance, providing household and baby items, and moral/emotional support. Children with Special Healthcare Needs (CSHCN) Cowlitz County Health Department

The mission of this program is to promote integrated systems of care that assure that children with special health care needs have the opportunity to achieve the healthiest life possible and develop to their fullest potential. The Children with Special Health Care Needs program serves children with physical, behavioral, or emotional conditions that require health and related services beyond those required by children generally. Client referrals can be made by families, school, medical providers, and others to the CSHCN Coordinator in the County Health Department where the child lives.
