This program is a comprehensive network of public health professionals functioning to strengthen public health infrastructure in preparation for any natural or human made disaster. Key focus areas include preparedness planning and readiness; surveillance and epidemiological capacity; communications; risk communication and health information dissemination; and education and training.

American Red Cross Southwest Washington Region

Local Facts: In the past fiscal year, American Red Cross of Southwest Washington responded to 107 fires, 10 floods and three storm-related incidents; mobilized relief to 149 families affected by local disasters; collected 24,589 units of blood; trained more than 16,851 people in vital lifesaving and disaster preparedness skills; and provided outreach programs to 302 members of the Armed Forces and their families. There were 3,068 volunteers who gave of their time.

Cowlitz County Chaplaincy

The Cowlitz Chaplaincy is committed to: Providing support services to Police/Fire/EMS personnel and their families; Crisis intervention support to the community in times of need; Relational, emotional and spiritual support to anyone (regardless of faith base) upon request. Chaplains serve free of charge by invitation in three specific areas: emotional, relational, and spiritual. Chaplains are not police officers/firefighters, they serve as CARE givers.
