We know that lasting personal and social change comes about when we all work together. That’s why, at the Y, strengthening community is our cause.  Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

Our Mission

To promote positive change in a child and family's life by engaging and linking them to resources that will result in success in school, having positive friends, a healthy home life and being involved in positive activities.

Vision Statement

We believe that: Our Services should be affordable and accessible to those who need them; Children and families should have access to resources to improve their lives; Services should be accessible, not just available, to all who need them.

YSPP is a suicide prevention education program focusing on youth. It sponsors awareness trainings for communities and professionals and has produced curricula for elementary, middle, and high school students. The YSPP website, www.yspp.org, includes fact sheets, awareness materials, resource lists for adults and youth, and special sections for LGBTQ youth.

As young people work toward finishing their high school education and begin thinking about their future, many realize that they lack the skills employers desire. Without skills, youth remain stuck in low paying jobs with very little hope for advancement. The Youth Workforce Program is designed to assist young people from Clark and Cowlitz Counties as they begin employment or complete their secondary or post-secondary education.
