River Cities Transit

RiverCities Transit offers transportation within the Longview-Kelso city limits. RiverCities Transit Lift para-transit services is door to door transportation for the disabled (360) 442-5667. Certification is required for para-transit services and forms are available through the office. Bus schedules and information are available on the website or by contacting the office or at Longview and Kelso City Halls.

Senior Community Lunches - Lower Columbia Community Action Program (CAP)

Provides hot lunches to seniors 60 years of age and older in a community meal setting. There are eight (8) different sites in Cowlitz and Wahkiakum Counties. The goal is to provide fellowship and information as well as serving a nutritional meal.  Suggested donation of $2.50 per meal.


R.U.O.K. (Are you OK?) - Lower Columbia Community Action Program (CAP)

Provides a free, daily check-in service by telephone for individuals that live alone and have medical issues putting them at risk. A staff member or volunteer will call the client on a daily basis at an agreed upon time to assure that all things are going well for the day. In the event that a call goes unanswered, protocol is that phone calls will be made every 15 minutes for the next hour or until answered. If still unanswered, the emergency contact person is notified.


Home Delivered Meals (Meals On Wheels) - CAP

To provide a hot or frozen meal to a homebound client who is at least 60 years of age and meets the criteria for vulnerability. Special dietary needs can be met most of the time. Donation of $2.50 per meal is suggested. Authorization is made through Senior Information and Assistance at (360) 577-4929 or 1-800-682-2406, then referred to CAP Nutrition Program for start of meal delivery.

Community Services Office (CSO) -Department of Social & Health Services (DSHS)

Services Provided: Services available to families and individuals, including cash, medical, food, child care and social services. The CSO administers state and federal public welfare programs. These include medical programs for aged, blind and disabled individuals, children and pregnant women. We also administer medical programs that assist Medicare recipients with their co-pays and deductibles and with drug and alcohol treatment. There are other medical assistance programs available so we encourage anyone to apply who may be in need of medical assistance.


Volunteer Chore Services - Catholic Community Services Family Center

Volunteer Chore Services is committed to helping elders and adults with disabilities remain independent in their own homes through a network of caring community members. Services provided include:  Housework, Cooking, Laundry, Communications,Shopping/errands, Household Repairs, Transportation, Monitoring, Yard Work, Wood Provision, Respite, Some kinds of Personal Care, Minor Home Repair, Protective Supervision, Moving Assistance


S.L. Start and Associates, Inc.

Offers the following services to individuals interested in entering or re-entering the workforce. They provide comprehensive services including assessment, job placement, and on-the-job support. They assist employers in competently supporting employees with disabilities. They also work to teach people the skills they need to get and keep jobs on their own.
